The event is prepared by the Russian language Club together with the Exeter Yaroslavl Twinning Association, and is dedicated to the Orthodox Easter (Pascha) (Православная Пасха) and Radonitsa ( Красная Горка) that is celebrated in Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Cyprus, Rumania and some other countries. During the event everyone can learn what are the differences between the Orthodox Easter traditions, Catholic Easter traditions and the Easter celebration of how we know it here, in the UK.
11.00 – 11.15 Registration
11.15 – 12.00 Presentation by the Russian language club teachers, dedicated to the traditions of the Orthodox Easter, Radonitsa and slavic folk spring celebrations.
12.00 – 14.00
Russian Easter themed activities, games and workshops:
There will be Easter mini market stalls and Arts and Crafts stalls to help raise funds for the Exeter Language Club educational activities.
Hot and cold drinks, cakes and light snacks will be provided.
The entry is free for the Russian Language Club members, Family tickets for the other Exeter Club Members is 3 pounds and for the non members - 10 pounds. The number of tickets is limited due to the venue space restrictions, and tickets are offered on a "first come - first served" basics. Launched in January 2018, Exeter Language club has successfully finished its first school year. 53 Certificates of Achievement were issued to the children of Exeter and Devon who were studying Russian language, Chinese Mandarin Language and Chinese Art during the Spring and Summer term. We are looking forward to seeing them all back after the Summer Holidays. We are also opening extra groups and have more spaces available from September....
